Get ready for a uniquely NexGen VIRTUAL experience powered by TD Ameritrade! Although we couldn't "Gather" in person this year as planned, join your fellow NexGen’ers for a one day event that will focus on you and your career. With everything that is going on in today’s world from a pandemic to the growing awareness of continued racism we need to come together now more than ever! Not only to provide each other with support, but to remind each other just how powerful this profession is. At this One Day Experience we are creating a space for those new to the profession and those who were new just a few a years ago. This year’s first ever virtual FPA externship brought real financial planning to 1,600+ students and career changers – now at our One Day Experience all of us NexGen’ers will get to meet each other! The day will start with internal discovery on your Clifton Strengths, move on to workshops related to career development, and finish with a deep dive into adding coaching skills to your superb technical skills. Saundra Davis, MSFP, FFC®, FBS®is a US Navy veteran, financial coach, speaker, educator, and consultant who is nationally recognized as an expert in the financial coaching field and for her work with community-based organizations that focus on asset building for the working poor. She developed and facilitates the Financial Fitness Coach certification program to promote the highest standard for professional services for all people, irrespective of wealth and income. Her experience in the U.S. Navy and her twenty years serving community-based organizations led her to the reality that the best way to help people find a path out of poverty is to help them become their OWN financial expert.

Ms. Davis is the founder and Executive Director of Sage Financial Solutions, a San Francisco Bay Area based organization that develops comprehensive financial capability programs for low- and moderate-income communities throughout the United States. She is a Financial Behavior Specialist and her philosophy of the financial continuum of care continues to shape the financial capability and coaching efforts around the country. Saundra has been an active proponent of building a more inclusive financial planning community and has served on the Financial Planning Association local and national pro bono and diversity committees.

Saundra holds a B.S. in Management and an M.S. in Financial Planning from Golden Gate University where she is currently a Distinguished Adjunct Professor in the Personal Financial Planning program.

Kyle Jordan

Kyle Jordan, CAE, CMM, CMP serves as the Managing Director of Learning and Conferences for the Financial Planning Association (FPA) headquartered in Denver, Colorado. In this position he is responsible for creating learning journeys and unique learning experiences for a broad range of practices and positions that represent FPA members at every stage of their career and development.

Prior to joining the Financial Planning Association Kyle served as the Director of Chapter Development for Gamma Phi Beta sorority. Previously, Kyle served as Director of Member Engagement at Synergos Association Management Company where he managed membership recruitment efforts and conference planning related activities for the Association of Fraternity/Sorority Advisors and the Association of Fraternal Leadership and Values. He has an extensive background in higher education, holding administrative and adjunct instructor positions at Appalachian State University, the University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill, Washington State University and Western Oregon University.

Kyle is a Certified Association Executive (CAE) and a Certified Meeting Professional (CMP). He is an active volunteer, currently serving as the Director of Communications of the Rocky Mountain chapter of the Professional Convention Management Association (PCMA). In 2013 Collinson Media named Kyle one of the Top 40 Under 40 meeting professionals in the industry.

Kyle received a Bachelor of Art Degree in Political Science and Gender Studies from Valparaiso University, and he has earned a Master of Education from Washington State University and a Master of Science in Human Resources from Western Carolina University. Kyle recently completed a Certificate of Meeting Management (CMM) from the Kelly School of Business at Indiana University.

Dr. Nathan Harness, CFP® currently serves as the TD Ameritrade director of financial planning at Texas A&M University. He manages the financial planning program and teaches courses in investments, retirement planning, and comprehensive financial planning. He has lectured both nationally and internationally on global financial risk, international investing, gender-based asset preferences, and next generation planning.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in finance from the University of Central Arkansas, a master’s degree in finance from Texas Tech University, and a Ph.D. in personal financial planning from Texas Tech University. His research on household heuristics, wealth accumulation, and retirement planning has been published in numerous journals including Applied Economic Letters,Financial Services Review,Journal of Financial Planning, and Journal of Personal Finance. He was most recently recognized by InvestmentNews as a top 40 Under 40 financial planner, the DFW FPA Chairman’s Award recipient, and Young Guns award winner from Texas Tech University.

Prior to his current role, Dr. Harness was an associate professor of finance and executive director of global programs at Texas A&M University-Commerce and assistant professor of financial planning at the University of Georgia.

Growing up in New York City, he noticed the lack of financial literacy in his community and was inspired by his parents to work hard and pursue an education. Not only is financial planning Trudy Turner's profession, she also feels it's her calling. When she is not working with clients as a Senior Wealth Manager at Goldman Sachs Personal Financial Management, she can be found teaching, mentoring and counseling students, young practitioners and career changers to accelerate their success in the financial planning profession. She brings over two decades of financial services experience in wealth management, tax planning, insurance underwriting and public accounting to her dual passion of improving the lives of her clients and financial planning colleagues.

Trudy has served her profession as the 2006 President of the Dallas Fort Worth Chapter of the Financial Planning Association (FPA) and numerous national FPA committees, including being one of three Co-Founders for the FPA Diversity Committee. She received the Dallas Fort Worth Chapter of the FPA Honors Award in 2009 for her extraordinary commitment and significant contribution to the financial planning profession. In 2020, Trudy was honored to accept the Dr. A William “Bill” Gustafson Distinguished Leadership Award from the Texas Tech Personal Financial Planning Alumni for her leadership in education, advocacy and mentorship in the financial planning profession.

Trudy has been honored in the inaugural 2002 and all subsequent listings of the Best Financial Planners in Dallas in D Magazine. She received a Bachelor of Science in Finance from the University of Virginia and a Master of Science in Accountancy from the University of North Texas.

Diana Yanez is an Associate Financial Planner with RTD Financial Advisors, Inc. Diana's passion for personal finances led her to change careers into Financial Planning from business analysis. Diana successfully passed the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ exam in July of 2018 and is now working on the experience requirement to earn the CFP® Certification.

Kevin is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ and Certified Investment Management Analyst® based in Columbus, Ohio. He primarily serves small business owners, retirees, and individuals aged 40 and under, and he is currently completing requirements to becoming an Enrolled Agent able to offer tax services to clients. Kevin served as FPA of Central Ohio’s NexGen Director in 2019 and currently acts as its Career Development Director. He has also served on multiple FPA committees at the national level, including this year’s NexGen One Day Experience task force. Kevin graduated from Ohio Northern University in 2011 with a BSBA in finance and management and previously worked at Fidelity Investments and Merrill Lynch prior to joining his current firm. He resides in the Short North district of downtown Columbus and spends his free time attending live sports and performing arts events when they’re not canceled by pandemics.

Emma Cramm, CFP®, is a wealth planner for Cadent Capital in Dallas, TX. She began her work at Cadent after graduating from the Texas A&M Financial Planning program in 2016. She earned the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ designation in 2019, and is currently pursuing the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation, the most respected designation for professionals in the investment industry.

Spurred by her first attendance at NexGen Gathering in Chicago, Emma is a actively involved in the Dallas/Ft. Worth chapter of the Financial Planning Association. She serves as the Co-Chair of the NexGen committee, and coordinates the annual FPA DFW Career Day. She has also been featured in the monthly NexGen Planner publication.

A born and raised Texan, Emma is the oldest of five kids, all hilarious and highly competitive. She mentors high school girls through Young Life and attends a local church in Dallas. In her free time, you can find her cheering on the Dallas Cowboys or whipping up a batch of chocolate chip cookies.

Josh Harris joined the Clemson faculty in January 2016. He comes to Clemson from working in Financial Services and Planning with PNC Bank. Currently Josh is a Certified Financial Planner (TM) and an Accredited Financial Counselor in good standing. He is a member of the National and South Carolina chapters of the Financial Planning Association, Financial Therapy Association & Association for Financial Counseling and Planning Education. In addition to his professional associations, Josh sits on the United Way of Pickens County Financial Capability Committee, sits on the Board of Directors for the SC Financial Planners Association, and on the Board of Directors of the Financial Therapy Association.
